DUMFRIES ASSAULT, LOCAL MAN ARRESTED

Police Scotland officers in Dumfries are seeking witnesses to an assault which took place at around 0250 hours on Sunday 13 December 2015 near to the Argos store in Church Place in the town centre. A 21 year old man from Thornhill was assaulted at this time and as a result received injuries to his nose and mouth. Police say a man has been arrested in connection with an alleged attack in Dumfries town centre early on Sunday.
Police Scotland said today that the 23 year old man from Heathhall, Dumfries has now been arrested and will be reported to the Procurator Fiscal at Dumfries.
The spokesman said it was in relation to an assault which took place in Church Place in Dumfries in the early hours of Sunday 13 December 2015.
The man has been bailed to appear at a later date.
