Domestic Abuse and Violence Against Women Partnership community consultation launched

The DAVAWP has launched its 2012/13 Community Consultation in order to get the views from people across the region on domestic abuse and other forms of violence against women.
The DAVAWP has had 3 previous consultations where residents of Dumfries and Galloway were phoned to ask their views. The Partnership hopes to find out if there have been any changes in opinions. It will also help with future awareness raising about domestic abuse and other forms of violence against women.
The Consultation involves a series of questions and also includes an open section where people can make comments and/or express their views on related issues.
The Consultation is open until the end of January 2013 and any resident in Dumfries and Galloway who is over 16 years of age can take part in it.
Participants who leave their contact details will have the opportunity to take part in a draw for £100 after the Consultation has closed.
DCC Mike McCormick – DAVAWP Chair said: “This is a very good opportunity for people in Dumfries and Galloway to let us know what they think about issues relating to domestic abuse and other forms of violence against women and for us to see if public views of these issues are changing. We are looking forward to seeing what people in the region have to say about these complex issues.”
