Thornhill Music Festival 3rd to 5th May

Things are gearing up nicely for Thornhill Music Festival which takes place over the holiday weekend on the 3rd to the 5th of May in the ducal village .This multi genre festival will be taking place in 4 venues in the village Farmers Arms , Buccleuch and Queensberry Arms Hotel , Thornhill Inn and the Elamarglen Hotel . Organised by Nick Hamilton father of and bass player with top scottish blues guitarist Lewis Hamilton the festival offers not just some of the finest blues acts in the country but rock , trad/country , reggae as well as singer songwriters and well respected session players .

Leading the line in the blues acts is Lewis Hamilton , along with fellow Jock’s Juke Joint contributers Wang Dang Delta , Baby Isaac, The Jensen Interceptors, and Dumfries band The Yahs,appearing the very talented Sandy Tweedale  and the sensational Ryan McGarvey and the legendary Dave Arcari  . Amongst the other great acts appearing really they are to numerous to mention.

The Ballachulish Hellhounds,Tony Brook,Heelster Gowdy,Urang Matang,Gavin Marwick & Friends,Lyndon Anderson’s Smokehouse Boys,Box ‘o Bananas, The Red Pine Timber Company, Scarecrow Tribe, GT Boos Band, Safehouse, Bad Reputation and lots more besides.

Alive 107.3 will also be supporting this event and we hope to bring you some live recordings and interviews with some of the bands.
