The Hope for Justice Zoe Challenge is about to get started as CEO Ben Cooley and actor Tom Lister fly out on Monday 13 May to Latvia to begin the challenge of a lifetime.
In just twenty days (13 May-1 June) the core team of four, including Ben and Tom, will cycle over 2700km, through six countries in the harshest of conditions from Riga in Latvia to Southampton following the route of one of the first victims to be rescued by the charity – Zoe.
The challenge is to raise awareness of victims that have been trafficked into the UK or within the UK against their will, and to raise much-needed funds for a new regional investigative hub to help more victims in the UK.
After hearing devastating facts about the existence of human trafficking, Ben Cooley founded Hope for Justice to take practical steps towards ending the problem in the UK. Ben and his team are now achieving this by leading investigations, facilitating the rescue of victims and driving forward the prosecution of perpetrators.
At the big finale 1 June at the New Community Church, Southampton, Ben and Tom will share their journey with the crowd as they finish their epic challenge by finally arriving into the city where Zoe’s journey ended.
