Dumfries and Galloway Council – Regeneration Exhibition Lockerbie Library

A regeneration exhibition at Lockerbie library starts this Thursday. The display shows how the town centre will look when the current work to revitalise it is finished. The exhibition also highlights the design for the new sheep sculptures which are destined to sit outside the town hall. A full size representation of the sheep sculptures will also be at the library.
Chairman of the Planning, Housing and Environment Committee, Councillor Ian Carruthers said “ There has been considerable discussion about the current work in the Town Square and the exhibition will include a comments book so we can gather further opinion. It’s important that residents and businesses go along and see the designs so they can appreciate the vision and understand what a difference this will make to the town.”
Councillor Carruthers added “ There has been a lot of interest in the sheep sculptures but up until now we have not been able to let people see the what the finished sculptures will look like which is another reason why people should go along to the library.”
The display will be in Lockerbie Library Thursday 22 August until Saturday 31st August 2013. The designs can also be seen by opening the Masterplan document on the Lockerbie Regeneration page on the Council web site at www.dumgal.gov.uk/economicdevelopment
