Police Scotland has donated £200 to the Ecclefechan Day Centre for their support during the investigation surrounding the recent murder of a local man in the village. The centre opened their doors to police officers allowing them to use it as
a rest centre during the days following the incident. Sergeant John Adams who co-ordinated the door to door enquiry during the investigation said “the support and assistance given to the police during this enquiry was very much appreciated. There is no police office in Ecclefechan, so to have a base in the village where officers could meet for shift briefings, eat a hot meal and provide a local visual presence in the immediate aftermath was invaluable.”
