Dumfries & Galloway To Benefit From Scottish Government Third Sector Fund

South Scotland MSP Aileen McLeod has today (Wednesday) welcomed the announcement by Cabinet Secretary John Swinney that two projects in Dumfries & Galloway are to receive grants from the SNP Government’s Enterprise Ready Fund.
The £6 million fund, which opened in September this year, is used to support a sustainable, capable and enterprising third sector.
The two projects receiving support from this round of founding are Creetown Initiative Ltd (£42,200) and The Food Train (£58,891).

“Congratulations to the Creetown Initiative and the Food Train for securing this funding from the Scottish Government’s Enterprise Ready Fund.
“Having a strong, enterprising third sector is part of our vision for a fairer and more inclusive Scotland. That is why this fund was created, to ensure that projects that are making a difference receive the support they need.
“Both the Creetown Initiative and the Food Train provide valuable services to the region and I am delighted they have been successful. Shortly after I was elected I spent a great day with Food Train volunteers in Kirkcudbright and spoke in support of their work in a debate on the Food Train in Parliament last year.
“I have also met with the Creetown Initiative and seen first hand some of their excellent projects focussing on sustainability, the environment and economic regeneration.
“This is only one round of funding and there is still plenty more cash in the pot for worthy projects. The next deadline for applying is the 16th of June and details can be found on Foundation Scotland’s website:
