Celebrate World Book Night with the Library

World Book Night is an annual celebration of reading and books which takes place on 23 April. It sees passionate volunteers give hundreds of thousands of books away in their communities to share their love of reading with people who, for whatever reason, don’t read for pleasure or own books.
Join the Library Service in the former Bakers Oven, High Street, Dumfries on Wednesday 23 April 12 noon – 2pm. as they gift hundreds of World Book Night Books. Local authors Sara Bain, Vivien Jones and Jayne Baldwin will also be joining in and gifting copies of their own books.
World Book Night is fantastic opportunity for everyone to enjoy reading by trying a new author, rediscovering the pleasure of books or being inspired to read something new by meeting some of our local authors.
World Book Night titles being gifted include Nora Roberts – Black Hills, Richard Wiseman – 59 Seconds, Jane Fallon – Getting Rid of Matthew, John Grisham – Theodore Boon, Ben Arronvoich – Rivers of London, Armistead Maupin – Tales from the City and Sara Bain – The Sleeping Warrior, Jayne Baldwin – Mary Timney, Road to the Gallows, Vivien Jones – Perfect 10 and many many more…
