Police Investigate Grave Vandalism

Police are investigating a report of damage to two gravestones in the Troqueer Cemetery in Dumfries.
Sometime on Saturday 16/Sunday 17 August 2014, two gravestones have been pushed over in the graveyard.
Constable Gary Adair of the Community Policing Unit said “the matter was reported to us by a member of the public who was walking through the graveyard. The headstones have been pushed over and flowers scattered about, and although the actual headstones are not damaged, damage has been caused to the foundations of the stones. It is appalling that people can carry out an act such as this in a place like a graveyard. These places are not playgrounds and people should not use them as such.
Anyone with any information which may help trace those responsible is asked to call Police Scotland on 101, or if they wish to remains anonymous, Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
