COUNCIL’S FOSTERING SERVICE DOES WELL

Written by on February 19, 2015

The Social Work Services Committee (24 February 2015) will hear that the Council’s Fostering and Adoption services both scored ‘very good’ in every quality category on which they were assessed: care and support, staffing, and management and leadership.

Both the Fostering and Adoption services have consistently achieved ‘very good’ grades since 2012. These most recent inspections concluded that the adoption service continues to provide a high quality service and that the support provided to foster carers is of a consistently high standard.

Councillor Jim Dempster, chairman of the Social Work Services Committee, said, “Providing the best start in life for all our children and protecting the most vulnerable are key priorities for our Council. So, I’m delighted that that under our Fostering service children are benefitting from very good care provided by committed and caring foster carers and our Adoption service does extremely well in matching children with adoptive families. This is a credit to everyone involved and I’d like to thank them.”
