Dairy Farmers protest in Dumfries

Local dairy farmers took to the aisles of Morrisons supermarket last night in protest over low milk prices being paid by supermarkets nationally .
Local NFUS Milk convener Gary Mitchell was voicing his concerns over the devaluation of milk saying that milk was now 39p per litre compared to £1 per litre a year ago .
The assembled farmers removed milk from the shelves of the supermarket and gave it away to the public they also walked a calf through the store in protest .
