Major A76 disruption this weekend

One of the regions major trunk route will be closed this weekend resurfacing works will take place on the A76, Elliock Wood between the picnic area/car park at Glenairlie Bridge and the 2+1 overtaking section south of Mennock.
This will see the A76 trunk road closed to traffic from 7pm on Friday 2 October 2015 to 6am on Monday 5 October 2015.
Drivers are asked to be patient and to plan their journey.
The diversion routes are as follows:-
Traffic on the A76 northbound shall exit the A76 at Drumlanrig, along A702 to M74 Junction13 Abington Services roundabouts, exit to B7078 and turn left onto A70 (Millbank), continue through Muirkirk to junction of B743.
Vehicles over 15 feet high – turn right to B743 and travel via Sorn and B713 (Newton Street) Catrine to rejoin A76.
All other traffic continues through Cumnock to rejoin A76 at A70 junction.
Traffic A76 southbound shall exit A76 at A70 (Cumnock) turn left to A70, continue towards M74 Junction12, turn right to B7078 to the roundabouts at Abington Services M74 Junction13, at 1st roundabout take 2nd exit to next roundabout take 2nd exit to A702 and follow to A76 at Carronbridge to rejoin A76.
Vehicles over 15 feet high – Commence on A76 at B713 (Newton Street) through Catrine and B743 to the junction with A70 – turn left to A70 and follow the above southbound diversion route.
There will be no through access, only local access via controlled entry/exit.
