MSP for the South of Scotland Aileen McLeod is encouraging organisations and individuals across Dumfries & Galloway to submit their views as part of a nation-wide review of the planning system.

The independent panel has been tasked with bringing together ideas to achieve a quicker, more accessible and efficient planning process in Scotland.
Aileen said: “The Programme for Government published in September announced that this review will look at wide-ranging issues affecting the planning system, including how planning is resourced and how we can streamline and improve our system in Scotland.
“The review’s aim is to increase delivery of high quality housing developments, by creating a quicker, more accessible and efficient process, which also reinforces the Scottish Government’s commitment to a fair and open planning system that works for everyone, especially local communities.
“I would urge all organisations and individuals who are involved with the planning system in Dumfries & Galloway in any way to use this opportunity to help shape the future of the planning system in Scotland by responding to the independent panel’s call for evidence before the closing date of 1st December.”
