CELTIC FANS CONDEMNED AFTER STAIR PARK INCIDENTS

POLICE are investigating the throwing of smoke bombs before the during the Stranraer – Celtic match at Stair Park on Sunday afternoon.
Celtic manager Ronny Deila joined police and officials from both clubs to condemn the actions.
The Celtic boss warned his fans that they were threatening to ruin and endanger safety and the club’s reputation by acts such as this.
Celtic beat Stranraer 3-0 in the Scottish Cup fourth round tie at Stair Park.
Leigh Griffiths hit two goals and one from Carlton Cole on his debut saw Celtic through to a comfortable win.
Just before the start smoke bombs were hurled from the terracing at the end occupied by Celtic fans. One smoke bomb was thrown during the match.
Deila said: This is absolutely something we need to get stopped. It’s not positive for anybody and we, as a club, don’t want to have anything to do with it.
“It’s not my job, but I’m a part of this club and we have to get it away from this club.”
He said it was important that people should be safe at football matches and safety had to be paramount.
