MAN FOUND SAFE AND WELL AS MOUNTAIN RESCUERS CALLED OUT

A HILL walker has been brought to safety from the Galloway Forest last night in the third rescue in Dumfries and Galloway this weekend.
Police Scotland said that a man who had been reported missing inthe Galloway Forest had been found late last night.
Members of the Galloway Mountain Rescue Tam were alerted by police after reports that the man had been reported missing.
The search was hamped by poor weather conditions with snow, low cloud and mist across Dumfries and Galloway.
A Police Scotland spokesman said early this morning: “We can now confirm that the man has been successfully recovered safe and well from the Galloway Forest by the Galloway Mountain Rescue Team.
He added; “We requested the aid of the Galloway Mountain Rescue Team to check on the welfare of a male believed to have been cut off due to the weather in the hills.”
He added: “We just want to emphasise that if you are planning to go out hill walking please make sure you go well equipped and let others know your routes, plans and time of return.”
Two women were rescued on Saturday in separate incidents on Cairnsmore of Fleet and Criffel. Although both suffered broken limbs they are recovering after treatment at Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary.
