ROAD users are set to benefit from £150K of upgrading works on the A75 at Mossyard, which is located 6km west of Gatehouse of Fleet

The work on this section of the busy A75 Gretna – Stranraer Euro-route will see the construction of a right turn lane.

The works by Scotland TranServ, operating on behalf of Transport Scotland, are programmed to begin on Monday February 22 for eight weeks. The works will be carried out under one-way alternating traffic lights.

Andy Fraser, Operating Company Representative, Scotland TranServ said: “This upgrading scheme will benefit road users using the A75 entering Mossyard.

“We are doing everything we can to minimise disruption by carrying these works under one-way alternating traffic lights however we would advise motorists to plan ahead and leave plenty of time for their journeys.”

Motorists can keep up to date with real time traffic information by visiting www.trafficscotland.org or following @TrafficScotland on Twitter.

Advanced warning signs will also be in place on the approach to inform motorists that roadworks are taking place.
