Smashing Skills On Show at Nithsdale Schools Badminton Competition

 

 

Thirty four pupils from Nithsdale Primary Schools took part in the third annual Active Schools and Community Sport Badminton Competition at The David Keswick Athletics Centre on Sunday 28 February.

 

The competition, organised by Dumfries and Galloway Council was a big hit with pupils and spectators, with some spectacular rallies being played out, with many games going right to the wire.

 

The 8 winners and runners up from each category will now progress to the Regional Final at The David Keswick Athletics Centre on Sunday 20 March.

Chair of Nithsdale Area Committee Councillor Ted Thompson said;

 

“I am always delighted to see our youth taking part in sporting activities.  Not only does it contribute to health and wellbeing it promotes a sense of self-worth highlighting that exercise is enjoyable.  Good luck to the winners at the regional competition later this month.”
