Cold Callers target Dumfries

D&G Council Trading Standards Service has received reports of traders currently cold calling in the Dumfries area. They are claiming to be carrying out drainage work on behalf of the Council. We can confirm that this is not the case. We would like to remind you that the Council will always inform you of any work in advance by letter and that council workers will carry ID – ask to check this.
Advice from Trading Standards to all residents within Dumfries and Galloway is to report any suspicious activity or incidents to us via Citizens Advice Consumer Service on 03454 04 05 06 or to Dumfries Galloway Police Division on 101.
Please look out for your family, friends and those who are vulnerable within your neighbourhood.
