Hugh Taylor is back tonight with another two hours of FOLKnSTUFF.
Tonight’s live guests spot will be from a new, Dumfries based, Acapella group called LOKA.
The name comes from the first initial of each member. Lynn, Orla, Kat and Angie got together many years ago at Dumfries Community Choir but it’s just a few weeks since they decided to form LOKA. After performing a Burns song together at a wedding they decided to try a few more. We found out about them at Alive Radio and tonight they make their broadcasting debut.
The Album of the Week tonight is Bound, a new release from Jenn and Laura Beth.
Jenn Butterworth is one of Scotland’s foremost female guitarists. She toured extensively with the Anna Massie Band and her most recent collaborations have been with Songs Of Separation, Phil Cunningham and Fiddler’s Bid. She is from Dumfriesshire.
Laura Beth Salter needs no introduction to FOLKnSTUFF audiences having played live on air with The Daddy Naggins. She is a founding member of The Shee, plays mandolin with the Daddy Naggins and has recently collaborated with Shooglenifty and Dougie MacLean as part of the MacLean Project.
