Q.O.S : Hutton, Reid, McGuffie, McKenna, Quinn, Johnstone, Burns, Carmichael, Holmes, McMennamin, McLaren
Ross County: McGovern, Marr, Morrison, Kettlewell, Boyd, Gartland, Milne, Fitzpatrick, Wood, Brittain, Corcoran.
Having not played at home since 13th November Queens finally managed to get a game on at home.
The 1st half started with a high tempo and Queens being the better team. McLaren fired an early free kick straight into the Ross County wall. After 8 min Johnstone beat the offside trap, and raced clear, McGovern in the County goal clearly fouled him and the ref pointed to the spot. The most surprising thing is that the ref did not take any action against the keeper.
McLaren took the spot which was saved but McLaren scored on the rebound. 1-0 Queens.
After the goal County got into the game more and a free kick was well punched away by Hutton. 18 min into game County scored after a corner, Fitzpatrick had a completely free header and made no mistake from just a few meters out.
Queens should have had a free kick when the County keeper handled outside box, and on the other end County fired a free kick over. Towards the end of the half Holmes headed the ball just wide, half the crowd was up on their feet as they thought it was in.
McLaren and Morrison got booked in a half that started brightly fizzled out a bit.
The second half started with Paul Burns got booked for a nothing challenge. Ross County had a corner that was headed over and a shot straight at Hutton. Carmichael also had a shot after a corner that looped over the bar.
That was all before the flood lights went off and after a 2o min wait the ref after consulting police decided to abandon the game. So yet again Queens fail to get a game played, and we’ll just have to hope our fortunes soon change for the better.
