Nestlé staff from the company’s Girvan site will zoom past Loch Doon, through Dumfries and across the border to Carlisle on Friday, July 1 as they ride the first leg of a 500 mile cycle relay for Alzheimer Scotland and Alzheimer’s Society.
The nine cyclists are one of eight teams to take on the Nestlé Site to Site Challenge, a tough fortnight-long cycle relay around Nestlé offices starting in Girvan, South Ayrshire and finishing in Croydon, Surrey.
The team from Nestlé’s site in Girvan will be split into two, with the first cyclists pedalling 66.5 miles to Dumfries. They will then pass the baton to the second Girvan team who will ride the remaining 33 miles to Carlisle.
The money raised from the 500 mile relay will go to Alzheimer Scotland and Alzheimer’s Society.
More than 60 Nestlé staff across the UK are taking part in the cycle challenge, with the final team crossing the finish line at Nestlé’s head office in Croydon on 14 July.
