A76 closed north of Kirkconnel – delays expected for some time

Police are advising motorists that the A76 is blocked north of Kirkconnel due to a road traffic collision.
The road is expected to be closed for a considerable period of time to allow for recovery and police investigations to take place. Motorists are asked to avoid the area if possible and to expect delays if travelling nearby. Diversions will be put in place.
UPDATE at 11.30pm on 10th August: A76 is now fully open again.
