Written by Kevin Rennie on May 22, 2012
Sunlight Productions Youth Theatre Branch, STEDA Dumfries, recently rewrote and performed the classic local play, Peter Pan, rewriting it in both script and music to put on a full scale musical production in late February this year, during which time they completed a small tour of the region. Following on from the local success of their production they have been invited to the Aberdeen International Youth Festival to perform it alongside international drama groups in August of this year, as well as which they have plans to take it to the Edinburgh Fringe.
The tutors and young people involved in STEDA Dumfries are highly passionate about their project and recently came on Saturday Live! to discuss their work (interview available here) and since their interview have been devising a all new murder mystery production.
STEDA Dumfries will be performing their new murder mystery as a part of a three-course dinner they are putting on at the Easterbrook Hall on Friday 1st June to raise funds for Neverland and their future projects. You are cordially invited to attend their Masquerade Gala Night at Easterbrook Hall on Friday 1st June.
