Kings Summer Music festival

Written by on July 3, 2012

Kings Acoustic Summer Festival kicks off with Deedee Ray, from Lockerbie, on Saturday 7th July. It’s a free event, with a busker’s bucket for people to donate to the artist, if they like what they hear.

The festival series runs through July, August and September and features seven up-and-coming local artists. Kings manager, Helen Smith says, “Part of our vision at Kings is to help local musicians and artists get heard and seen. Our Summer Acoustic Music festival is bringing together some of the best local acoustic talent for easy listening evenings in the unique relaxed atmosphere of our coffee house.

“Deedee’s music revolves around her incredibly distinctive voice. We first heard her when she supported Beccy Atherton during the Big Burns Supper gig in Kings last January. Everyone was so impressed by Deedee’s performance that we decided she deserved a night headlining for herself!

The acoustic night starts around 7.30pm, with Deedee’s support; Twine, from Carlisle.

Future events in the festival as as follows:

July 14th Dave Bass

July 28th Zoë Bestel

Aug 11th Jade Walters

Aug 25th Sean McCole (Sean vs the Robots)

Sept 15th Darcy DaSilva

Sept 29th Beccy Atherton

Each act is arranging their own support, as well.
