Dumfries and Galloway Council’s Libraries are hosting their biggest ever Family Learning Week between 23 and 29 September.
The week long programme sees libraries hosting over 30 specialist events in addition to regular sessions. The activities and fun sessions are designed to excite every age group, encourage you to explore new opportunities and expand your imaginations.
This year Libraries are embracing technologies with Skype Workshops for connecting families worldwide, Cybertots-notepad fun for 3-5years, Cyberkids – PC fun for 5-7years, plus Kindle and Facebook Workshops for any age.
The range of interactive sessions include ZooLab workshops, Teddy Bears Picnics, Storytimes, BookBug Sessions and competitions. Everyone is invited to come along and get creative with calligraphy classes, knitting groups and craft sessions.
Why not expand your knowledge of your family and local history with help from our trained staff and specialist researchers? Then you can enter our local history quiz to win a free consultation with our family history researcher.
Council Leader Ivor Hyslop said, “Family Learning Week is a fantastic way for all the family to have fun and learn something new together in libraries.”
