UPDATED: Rail Accident, Driver in serious condition named

Dumfries & Galloway Police personnel are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding a crash between a train and a car at a level crossing at Little Genoch, Dunragit, Stranraer which occurred at about 13:45 on Sunday 7 October 2012.
The crash involved a Mitsubishi Shogun 4 x 4 and a two carriage train which was travelling between Glasgow and Stranraer.
The driver of the vehicle involved in the crash is an 18 year old man who lives and works locally. He was transferred to Glasgow Southern General Hospital by helicopter where he is being treated for his injuries. His condition is described as serious.
The man has been named as 18 year old Farm Worker Andrew Robertson from Palnure, Newton Stewart.
Three people, including the train driver were treated for minor injuries at Galloway Community Hospital in Stranraer and all were discharged after treatment. The remaining passengers were conveyed to a local leisure centre where they were seen by Scottish Ambulance Service Personnel and police.
The Stanraer to Glasgow railway line has now been cleared and re-opened.
British Transport Police are assisting in a joint investigation with officers from Dumfries and Galloway Constabulary.
