Harry Thomson will be bringing you the best of the new World releases this week as usual, along with a sprinkling of music from two local festivals.  With the news that the Wickerman Festival is not happening this year, local festival-goers may be looking at alternatives; there are two very good ones happening right here in Dumfries and Galloway.  Eden Festival at Rayhills Estate, near Moffat, features a fair sprinkling of World, Reggae, Dub and Dance, and has just announced its main line-up.  Knockengorroch World Ceilidh, as the name implies, is very much centred on World music, as well as Celtic fusion, dub, reggae, electronic, dance and anything else you care to mention.  Taking place beside the wonderfully scenic Water of Deuch, Knockengorroch is the original D&G outdoor weekend festival, and is hosting a “Winter Warmer” taster evening on 19 February in Dumfries.  Harry Thomson will have full details on the show at 8pm, and will also feature some of the announced line-up from Eden, as well as past headliners from Knockengorroch.  Give them a go – spend local and save your diesel! 🙂
