ANNANDALE CANINE SOCIETY VOTED THE TOP OPEN DOG SHOW

IT’S been a big week for the Annandale Canine Society which has been awarded the Top Open Dog Show in the UK.
The Society which was established in 1979, was presented with the prestigious award at a posh reception and award ceremony in Birmingham.
The announcement was made on the eve of the world famous Crufts Dog show
The Pawscars, the K9 version of The Oscars, is a fancy Black Tie awards ceremony held at The Hilton, Birmingham.
The Society was formed in 1979 it is now based in Gretna at The Halcrow Stadium thanks to the Norman family.
Members of the Annandale committee and friends travelled down to support the nomination and show secretary Jane Power said: “It was such a thrill to hear our name being announced the winner from hundreds of open shows up and down the Country.
“We get entries from both sides of the Border and each year the numbers grow.
“Charley Donaldson, Leigh Morris and George Waddell who won Reserve Best in Show at Crufts attend all our shows and their Middlebie Training Club supports the Junior Handling classes at our show by sponsoring Rosettes and Medals for the children.
“We are very grateful to them for this and very proud that we know them all too.”
