Whether you are local or visiting the region come and visit this summer to discover more about the artwork held in the Dumfries and Galloway Council collections. Dumfries and Galloway is home to over 1000 artworks and the Highlights exhibition offers a chance to view some of the best examples of work by Scottish artists dating from the 1850s to the present day, including works by the Scottish Colourists, Glasgow Boys, Elizabeth Blackadder and John Bellany. It’s a fabulous collection which visitors are already enjoying, commenting: “A fantastic show, beautiful work”, “So glad to see these works out of the store and on display – a treasure trove”.

The artworks have been selected from the Dumfries and Galloway Council and Dumfriesshire Educational Trust collections held at Gracefield, with contributions from Annan Museum, The Stewartry Museum Kirkcudbright and Stranrear Museum. A full colour booklet accompanies the exhibition priced £3.
