Best known for his massive hit singles “Now You’re Gone” and “All I Ever Wanted”, as well as appearing on Celebrity Big Brother, Basshunter will take to the main stage alongside Chipmunk, Emma’s Imagination, Twenty Twenty, Soundgirl and Wagner. Basshunter was quoted as saying: “I can’t wait to perform and I’m really looking forward to the show in Dumfries.”

Created in partnership with, and at the request of young people, Youth Beatz 2010 attracted an audience of almost 12,000 people. Youth Beatz is an interactive event for young people aged 12-25 to have fun, take part and be better informed about relevant issues, services and opportunities. The event is about socialising and experiencing major main stage acts, and is also aimed at creating civic pride and a lasting legacy of young people being fully involved in their community.

A young person from the events team who are involved in planning Youth Beatz said; “We are really pleased with the different styles of music in the line up this year and we hope it will appeal to a wide range of young people.”

Provost of Dumfries Jack Groom said; “Youth Beatz is an opportunity for our whole community to show their support for our young people, through engaging with them in an environment which they own and want to be in. Alongside providing information for young people which will help them access services and new opportunities, Youth Beatz is about young people enjoying themselves. Nithsdale Area Committee is delighted to be contributing to Youth Beatz, alongside commercial sponsorship.

The event will also feature activity-based entertainment, family attractions, dance and youth services information, local musicians and community groups. Youth Beatz 2011 will continue as free to enter, but for the first time tickets will be required. Free tickets can be obtained from www.youthbeatz.co.uk
