Beccy Atherton – final event in Kings Acoustic Summer series

Written by on September 22, 2012

Local singer/songwriter, Beccy Atherton completes a wonderful series of acoustic events at Kings Coffee and Books in Dumfries this summer. Beccy’s event is next Saturday, 29th September, from 7.30pm. As with all Kings’ summer events, there’s no charge, but there will be a buskers bucket for donations to the artist.

Kings manager, Helen Smith commented, “We’re had a feast of good music throughout the summer, all locally produced singers and musicians, with amazing talents. It’s been so good to be able to showcase people like Zoe Bestel, Dave Bass, Sean vs the Robots, Deedee Ray and Darcy daSilva. Beccy thrilled a packed audience last January when she performed in Kings as part of the Big Burns Supper, so it’s great to have her back again to wrap up our acoustic summer series.”

After two E.P’s Beccy is currently experimenting within the acoustic/folk scene taking inspiration from artists such as Nick Drake, Ray Lamontagne and more contemporary artists such as Benjamin Francis Leftwich and Laura Marling.
