Drumlanrig Castle & Country Estate is celebrating a successful 2015 season – which has seen more visitors to the attraction than ever before.

As well as welcoming more than 23,600 visitors – an 18 per cent increase on last year’s numbers.

This year also saw the highest number of seasonal passes purchased to date, with many visitors taking advantage of the offer to pay once and return to the 90,000 acre Dumfries and Galloway Estate as many times as they liked.

Guided Castle tours, the Adventure Playground, tasty Tearoom treats and the stunning Gardens all ensured Drumlanrig drew in the crowds – as well as the fabulous outdoor activities on offer, including fishing, cycling, mountain biking and Land Rover Tours.

Indeed, the Estate welcomed more than two-and-half times more adult mountain bikers in 2015 than in 2014.

Families were also well-catered for with a full programme of fun activities, such as the Junior Ranger Club which will continue into the winter months.

And the Country Estate’s diverse calendar of events didn’t disappoint, with around 20,000 people enjoying all the fun of the award-winning Galloway Country Fair and more than 15,000 adrenaline junkies arriving to take part in June’s infamous Tough Mudder challenge.

During the season, Drumlanrig also welcomed new tenants into its Stableyard area, including artist, Surie; supplier of air brushed t-shirts and tea towels, Andy Barr; and 4 Seasons, specialising in ribbon and designer paper.
