Thousands of people lined the streets of Dumfries to see the Olympic Torch carried through the town, at 8am on Thursday 21st June 2012. Thankfully it stayed dry for on this memorable event. (Film courtesy of David Slater)

It was a terribly wet day but that really didn’t dampen people’s spirits. Thanks go to the organisers and everyone who took part, making the parade a great one. (Thanks to David Slater for the video too!)

Hilfolk Noir are making waves in Scotland this week.  Awesome Roots Americana with a twist. Paul Lyttle plays them today on his super Bluegrass show! Plus they play Moniaive tonight!  See http://www.moniaivebluegrass.co.uk/calendar for details

Want a good family friendly summer festival with some soul? Stay tuned as very soon Alive will be speaking to Rev Steve Butler from St Johns’s Episcopal Church in Dumfries, one of the organisers about the festival, its aims, ethos and all the fab things to see, hear and do.

Another great Scottish Classic that you will wonder why you did not check it out sooner.
