Challenge Cup Final today: Queen of the South v Ross County

It was a lovely day for football at Perth for this long awaited final, postponed from way back in November. Sadly Queens just didn’t turn up for this game, and ended up losing 2-0.
The first goal came after only 9 minutes when keeper Hutton made a mess of a harmless back pass. He tried to pass it back to the defender but Barrowman tackled him after Hutton hesitated too long. A goal Hutton will have nightmares of for a long time. County dominated the game, but Queens had two good chances after about 30 min but two good saves by the County keeper denied them. Ross County then got their second goal after 39 min when Vigurs placed a shot in the corner after a good attack.
The second half was much the same with County controlling the game, mainly due to Queens not playing well. Long balls did not work today and they struggled to string passes together. Burns had the best chance but the County keeper blocked well with his feet.
It was a nice day out but Queens were very disappointing today and we hope they play better in the remaining fixtures in the league, beginning at home to Morton on Wednesday. Turn up and support your team!
