THE third round of the Community Safety Fund is open for applications from organisations, community groups and agencies across Dumfries and Galloway.

Funding is available to support small scale projects and initiatives that aim to make people feel safer in their neighbourhoods and/or aim to reduce the number of people who are victims of crime and anti-social behaviour.

Chairman of Community and Customer Services Committee Tom McAughtrie commented: “This vital funding will support small scale projects and initiatives across Dumfries and Galloway to tackle some of the community safety issues our communities experience. I would encourage anyone with a project that might potentially benefit from the community safety fund to apply now or get in touch with us for further information.”

Applicants can apply for up to £2,000 from the fund on a 50% match funding basis. The closing date for the third round of the Community Safety Fund is Wednesday 30 September  The funding criteria, information sheets and application form are available online at – http://www.dumgal.gov.uk/communitysafetyfund

If you have a project which you think may be eligible for funding from the Community Safety Fund and would like to discuss the opportunity further please do not hesitate to contact Stuart Hamilton, Principal Officer, Safe and Healthy Communities on 030 33 33 3000.
