D&G Blood Bikes getting the job done

A manic day for D&G Blood Bikes today, Dave Hook was doing the daily Glasgow run with Anne on control, when Anne received a call for an urgent Sample to go to Salisbury Specialist Labs at Portandown, from DGRI Dumfries a distance of 340 miles. With the help of Ron Little a relay was setup using Cumbria Blood Bikes, Northwest Blood Bikes, Shropshire and Stafford Blood Bikes, Severn Free Wheelers and SERV Wessex.
Tom Millar collected the sample from DGRI and delivered it too Gretna where Blood Bikes Cumbria continued the journey down to hand over.
Meanwhile a further call came in for urgent medical equipment to be transferred from Dumfries to the Borders General Hospital at Melrose, Tom again stepped in and went to DGRI and picked up the package, he then took it on to Moffat where Blood Bikes Scotland who cover the east of Scotland collected the package and took it on to BGH.
A big thank you to everyone who has helped out today from all the groups, proving what a fantastic job NABB (Nationwide Association of Blood Bikes) do pulling groups of Volunteer Life Savers together.
