A 28-year-old man has been remanded in custody on a charge of attempted murder.
His appearance at Dumfries Sheriff Court yesterday follows a stabbing incident which resulted in a man being taken to hospital at the weekend at the Lochside housing estate in Dumfries.
Kevin Pool, from Dumfries, appeared in private before Sheriff Mark Thorley on a petition containing charges of malicious damage, assault to severe injury, permanent disfigurement and to the danger of life.
A spokesperson for the procurator fiscal at Dumfries said no plea or declaration was made and Pool was committed for further examination.
