Extreme Weather Forecast

The MET Office has informed us that there is likely to be severe weather over the next twenty-four hours due to an area of high pressure over the United Kingdom. At present there are extreme weather warnings in place for areas North of Central England to the Central Belt in Scotland and these warnings are currently expected to remain in place until 10PM today (6th August).
Motorists are advised to be extremely careful with several local roads already closed including:
- U103 Parton to Barend road, north of Beach Vale (expected to remain closed for several days due to road surface damage)
- C25(West) road between Glenluce and Strairhaven (expected to remain closed for several days due to road surface damage).
Stay tuned to Alive 107.3FM for all the latest on the roads as well as all the latest weather. Please do be sure to take extra time on the roads and maintain a safe distance from other vehicles, if you don’t need to travel then please don’t.
