Dumfries and Galloway Council’s Trading Standards Service is warning consumers to be aware of a potential safety issue with an ‘Aquilla Battery’ firework which they may have purchased from Lidl UK stores in the area or outwith Dumfries and Galloway.
The Weco ‘Aquilla Battery’ firework (Lidl item no. 77642) may have a manufacturing fault that causes it to explode at ground level r
ather than in the air as intended. Anyone who has purchased one of these fireworks must not use it and should return it immediately to Lidl UK for a refund.
