MORE THAN £4,000 worth of jewellery and silver has been stolen from a house in Dumfries and a 50 inch television was taken from a house in Kirkconnel.
The first a house on Bankend Road in Dumfries took place sometime between Friday 31 July and Thursday 6 August 2015 while the owners were on holiday.
Jewellery including bracelets, pendants, necklaces and a quantity of silver cutlery with a value of over £4000 has been stolen in this break-in.
Constable Victoria Thomson of Police Scotland in Dumfries said: “This break-in took place whilst the occupier was away on holiday and the items stolen are all pieces of jewellery which in total are valued at many thousands of pounds.
“We are keen to hear from anyone who may have seen or heard anything suspicious in the Bankend Road area, particularly around 3pm on Monday 3 August 2015 when a man was seen in the garden of a house.
“The only description available is that he was of average build and height and was wearing mirror sunglasses. Please call police on 101 if you can help.”
IN another housebreaking at a house in St Conal’s Square in Kirkconnel, a 50″ television was stolen sometime between Monday 3 and Friday 7 August 2015.
Constable Scott Graham of Police Scotland at Sanquhar said: “A 50” television is not something that can easily be concealed when stealing from a house and we are asking for the public’s help to help catch those involved.
“Anyone who saw anything which might help should call me at Sanquhar Police Officer through the 101 number.”
