MSP LAUNCHES HEALTH SURVEY

With increased focus locally on access to routine appointments in GP practices as well as ongoing concerns about access to A + E services in Scotland, Claudia Beamish is writing out to constituents asking them to get involved and raise any issues with her.
Claudia Beamish MSP said: “There can be no doubt that the NHS is under considerable pressure but despite this, doctors and nurses in both our hospitals and health centres do an incredible job. Their dedication to providing treatment is second to none and I will always speak up for those who work on the front line.
“I want to give constituents across the South of Scotland region the opportunity to have their say on their experience of their GP practice or A + E Department. The situation facing A+E departments across Scotland is something which there is now weekly attention on. I welcome that and hope that we will see NHS Dumfries and Galloway meet the Scottish Government targets. However the Scottish Government need to ensure that NHS Dumfries and Galloway have the resources to meet their target and I will be following this issue closely and will continue to work with NHS Dumfries and Galloway on this issue.
“I am not able to write to everyone across the South of Scotland so if constituents would like to make their views known, my colleagues in Scottish Labour health team are also running a nationwide consultation “Fit for the Future” which is available on the Scottish Labour website www.scottishlabour.org.uk. ”
