Police appeal for witnesses after fatal road crash

Police in Dumfries and Galloway report that a male pedestrian who was struck by the white Renault Traffic van at around 2200 hours on Monday 23 July 2012 on the A702 Dalveen Pass Road in Dumfries and Galloway has since died. At this stage police are carrying out a full crash scene investigation and no further details of the deceased can be released until next of kin have been notified.
The collision occurred on the A702 approximately one mile north of its junction with Carronbridge. The driver of the van was uninjured in the collision.
Anyone who may have been on this road at the material time is asked to get in contact with Dumfries and Galloway Constabulary on 0845 600 5701 if they saw anything that may be of assistance.
