Police appeal for witnesses after serious road traffic collision

Police are appealing for witnesses following a serious road traffic collision that occurred on Glasgow Road in Dumfries at around 11.45hrs today (Wednesday 21 March).
The collision occurred near the roundabout at the entrance of King George Park and involved a local 50 year old cyclist and a navy Peugeot 407 being driven by a local 30 year old male.
The cyclist sustained serious head injuries and was taken to DGRI to receive treatment. Her condition is currently described as serious.
As the collision occurred at a busy stretch of road during a peak time of the day police are keen to speak to anyone who seen the incident or who was in the area around the time.
