Police seek public help

POLICE Scotland say they seeking information about the theft of £3,000 machine at Langholm and break-in at a shed in Annan.
A Rammer hydraulic hammer with a value of around £3000 has been stolen from a mini digger which was parked at road works on a bridge on the U257A road at Westerkirk, Langholm, sometime over the weekend between Friday 14/Monday 17 August 2015. The hammer was in new condition.
Constable Callum Ruddick of Police Scotland at Langholm said: “This piece of equipment would have needed a few people to move and would have required a knowledge of how to operate the digger as the hammer itself was attached to the boom.
“We are keen to hear from anyone who may have seen anyone near the digger over the weekend when the works were closed. Callers can contact us through 101.”
MEANWHILE A shed at a house in Thorburn Crescent in Annan was broken into sometime between 0230 hours and 1000 hours on Saturday 15 August 2015. Four lowering springs for a Vauxhall Vectra which are valued at around £150 were stolen in the raid.
Constable Emma Morgan of Police Scotland at Annan said: “It looks like those who broke in knew a bit about cars and it seems the springs, which are yellow in colour may have been singled out. Anyone who saw or heard anything suspicious in the area in the early hours of Saturday is asked to call police at Annan through 101.”
