Queens win in Ramsdens cup

Queen of the south recorded a good win saturday in the first round of the Ramsdens cup against Dumbarton. Derek Young started in midfield as a trialist, Willie Gibson and Mark Durnan made their debut. Having had the most chances it was a deserved victory although they rode their luck, specially when trialist Derek Young cleared off the line after a corner. Nicky Clark scored the winner in the 69th minute to see Queens through to the second round. Having been joined in the next round by Annan, a local derby would be great to see in the next round. The draw for the second round is Monday 30th July at 2pm and we will let you know who Queens will play as soon as we can!!
