Region ravaged by Storm Frank

Dumfries and Galloway has been seriously hit by the worst winter storm so far this year storm Frank has led to many areas of the region being cut off and trunk roads and arterial motorways being closed .
The Met Office had warned off serious winds and rain but it seems that Frank has been more potent than first reported .
Flooding in Dumfries has been extensive , Newton Stewart has been badly hit , Moffat and Moniave have been cut off and in Sanquhar power was turned off as a safety precaution.

The M74 has been closed at Jnct 13 beacause of flooding with some motorists having to be rescued from cars , the main A76 trunk road has also been closed at New Cumnock
