River of Life Church Goes Green – This Sunday (11th August)
Written by admin on August 8, 2013
This coming Sunday (11th August), and the following Sunday (18th August) the River of Life Church in Dumfries is going green with their Church in the Garden. They’re abandoning our normal Sunday morning services for two weeks, and moving the time from 11am to 4pm for the next two Sundays.
During these two afternoons, they’re having Church in the Garden – creating a garden on the playground/car park, with bouncy castle, games, face painting music and hot dogs. They’ll even have some artificial grass! They’ll finish with some worship songs around 5.30pm.
They’re arranging this as a really good opportunity for people to invite friends to experience Church in an even more friendly way than usual. Lots of people feel that attending a Church for the first time would be a daunting experience, but at River of Life, they want to make a way for people to have a chance to meet us and find out a little about what we stand for, as well as have a really good time in a casual, friendly environment. They’re praying for good weather over the two Sunday afternoons, but even if our lovely Scottish weather disappoints, they’ll have gazebos, and spaces under cover, but it will be nicer if the weather is good!
They have a Facebook event for this week too: facebook.com/events/135895019954467, so Facebookers can click that they’re attending, and share/invite their Facebook friends as well.
