SEARCH INTENSIFIES FOR MISSING RINGFORD MAN

A HELICOPTER and Mountain Rescue teams have been brought in to search for a missing 69-year-old Stewartry man.

David Porter, 69, from High Barcaple Farm at Ringford, has been missing for more than 36 hours now.

Conditions have been cold and wet and Police Scotland said they were concerned for Mr Porter’s safety.

The search was resumed this morning and is concentrated in Ringford area. The Galloway Mountain Rescue team and other partner organisations are involved with police.

A search and rescue Royal Navy helicopter has also been involved and is being brought in again today.

He was was last seen at 8.30pm on Tuesday night, September 22.

He is described as 5’5, white hair, stocky build. It is not known what Mr Porter is wearing and there is no picture available at this time.

“If you have any information or think you have seen Mr Porter please call us on 101,” a Police Scotland spokesman said.
