Town braces itself for road closures

Tonight will see the first of three weekend closures on the Dumfries Bypass for resurfacing work between the A76 roundabout and the A701 roundabout. The closures will take place between 1900 hours on the Friday night, continuously through until 0600 hours on the Monday, and traffic during this period will be re-routed through the town. Unfortunately we can expect delays and we ask everyone to carefully plan any journeys over this period. Let patience be your watchword.
