LOCKERBIE MOTORWAY CRASH VICTIM NAMED BY POLICE

POLICE have named the victim of the Lockerbie Motorway crash which occurred last night on the outskirts of town.

An articulated lorry and  a van  were involved in the collision on the A74M Glasgow – Carlisle motorway near Lockerbie.

Police Scotland say the viciim of the crash, a  passenger in the van, was 52 year old Paul Brown from Jackson Court in Motherwell.

The accident happened in the late afternoon and the carriageway was closed for several hours as an accident investigation went on.

The driver of the vehicle remains in the Western General Hospital in Edinburgh where his condition is described as serious.  A report has been sent to the Procurator Fiscal.
